Allright, calling all moms! My kids potty train soooo late. Koben is totally uninterested, and I have never potty trained a boy! Help!!!! He will sit on the potty, and if I put him on first thing in the morning, and before he goes to bed, he will almost always go. But when I put him on it periodically during the day (like at 9:30 am, at which time he notoriously poops) he won't always go. Now what? The boy is almost 3 1/2. He is the same age Chloe was, and I thought she was late! Chloe was extremely articulate, and she knew how to go, and I could discuss it with her, and she would tell me when she had to go. So, with her, one day she just said "mommy, I'm ready to use the potty now", and bam, she was potty trained. Koben is speech delayed, and while I know he understands most of what we say to him, I'm not 100% sure he is understanding everything I'm trying to explain about the potty. Some kids potty train when they are really young, and not really talking, so I'm not sure how much of a roll that plays in it or not. If anyone has any good advice, pass it on. I bought pull ups for him today to help with the 20 times on potty thing, and I put him on it three times in an hour. No potty. But then when we all went for a 20 minute walk right after that, sure enough, pee pee upon arriving home. Jeesh. So I put him on it again, no more pee pee. Put him on it 45 minutes later. He had peed in pull up again. An hour later, he pooped in said pull up. Now I have a full pull up and nothing produced in the potty. Boys!!!!!
I ran errands with mom today. She wore me out, and it is not often she does that! We went into Fred Meyer, where I checked out furniture, and looked for a new hutch, then we had to go to Thriftway, then we had to go to Woodburn to Wal-mart (jeez that place is a zoo even in the middle of the day, I hate that store) Then we drove to Vogets meats to pick up the pork we buy from Craigs dad every year (half a pig for mom, half for us, only he doesn't charge Craig and I for raising, just for cutting and wrapping, so we get a years worth of home raised pork for about $100.00) Then we did a drive by past Julie and Colleen's houses 'cause mom wanted to see where they lived (nosy Nelly. She liked both houses, by the way =P and she said thank you for the compliment on the travel trailer Julie, they are hoping they can use it more here soon. Dad is having surgery on his hand next week, so he is out of commission for awhile,) Then we had to go BACK into Canby, because mom forgot to go to the vitamin store for whatever potion she is concocting. (just kidding) Then we went back to her house so I could help her unload all that stinkin' meat. Then I picked up Chloe and we went to the grocery store. Pooped me out, I swear. By the time we got home, and I cleaned out the fridge and the freezer (I hate those side by sides, the freezers hold diddly) Craig was home, and we went for our walk. Chloe is doing the fitness across America program at school. Now it is bath time and American Idol time, and then night night time! I wish I was still on vacation!
By the way, Julie, since I know eventually you will read this. Does your mom and dad know that all of those dogs are loose? I saw them cross the road three times while I was at moms. She says they do that every day. Aren't they worried they will get hit? Is there not a way to put them in that back pasture? I would think that would be perfect for the dogs. One car did come around the corner while they were crossing, they honked, and speed braked, but that makes me way nervous! They are pretty dogs.

We had a really hard time potty training cole (he's almost 4 now). This is going to sounds crazy, but this is what we did. We would sit him on the toilet and stick his feet in a bowl of warm water. He would automatically go. After about two days of doing this...something finally clicked and he started going on his own. We figured out this method during our attempts to potty train and he would not go, not go, not go and then go as soon as we put him in the bathtub for a bath. SOmething about that warm water. :)
I just talked to Dad. He said he knew they ran across the road sometimes but didn't know they were doing it all the time. When he puts them in the field, they climb the fence and get out. lol. He says they probably ought to get a move on, in putting a fence around all the property like they were intending to do before Moms last incident. ;-)
I'm so embarrassed! I think you guys drove by my house the day before I was able to borrow my neighbor boy & his mower! It was starting to look like a jungle in my front yard.
I've always heard that boys typically potty trained later than girls. I think around 26 months old, I decided I wasn't doing diapers anymore. I told Baylee she either used her little potty or she sat in her own pee & poo all day. That got her on the potty right away though she peed the bed until she was 7.
With Synoah it was easy. She wanted to do everything her big sissy did.
Is Vogets an actual meat shop like Fischers in Canby? Where you can buy beef & stuff from a sales case?
