Is March truly half over?
I can hardly believe how fast time goes by! It is crazy!
Yesterday Koben went in for his four year well check. (only 2 1/2 months late) Craig had to take him in, so I didn't get to be there to hold my little mans hand. Craig wasn't sure what his height was, but they weighed him in at 51.6 pounds. That's my boy!! Holy moses, he is getting big! No wonder he feels like a sack of grain when we have to pick him up when he is sleeping! I always worry that he is getting too big, but the Doctor just says he is a big kid. He is not fat, he is really not even chubby, he is just a big, solid, tall kid. He looks like he's six years old! Oh, but how cute he is! He had three shots yesterday. Craig said on the first one, he didn't say a word. On the second he said "ouch" and on the third he said "no more, stop!" But he never cried. What a brave little monkey. I have been blessed with children that handle shots well. He is such a cutie, we enjoy him so!
Chloe is anxiously waiting spring break. I think she is kinda worn out, and can't wait for the school year to end. What kid can't? From March on, that is all we thought about. Summer vacation and long lazy days... Ahh, to be a kid again. Summer for me means really long work days, a lot of stress, and not being able to enjoy the summer hardly at all. =( Oh well, you take the good with the bad.
My kitchen smells like Corned beef today.........yummy! We will all be retaining a little water for the next few days, that is for sure, but it will be worth it. I invited mom and dad over for dinner, but dancing with the stars is apparantly on tonight, and since dish network still hasn't settled their dispute with channel 2, mom and dad can not tape it with their dvr, because they have to watch channel 2 off of the antennae. Oh, the lives of old people. Those were moms words when she called, not mine. However I still laughed at her. I told her she was more than welcome to watch it at our house, but she never wants to because it is on until 10, and she thinks that is too late. I think she just likes to be at home, laying on her couch, where she is comfortable, and can fall asleep as soon as it is over. She is so funny.
Koben and I are hanging out today. Doing laundry and cleaning floors. I will take him to school at 1:30, and enjoy two hours of a good book while he is gone.
We are finally getting Koben potty trained. We are so excited!! He has not had any accidents for over a week now. Only trouble is that he refuses to wear underpants, he only wants his pull ups. Not sure why. Unless he thinks his pullups offer a little more forgiveness. We have been making him wear underpants a little at a time, I am sure he will get used to them. It is soooo nice to not have to buy pullups like crazy anymore though. They are so expensive!!!
Happy St. Patricks Day everyone! Part of me wishes I were in Ireland right now...how fun would that be!!??

Ugh!!!! Spring is approaching, and that means work work work!!!!!!
I am sitting here, looking out the window, and it is beautiful outside!!!!
However, I am stuck inside with sick little bumpkins. =(
Chloe has had a cold with a fever since Saturday. Nothing major, comes and goes, as I give her Tylenol, but it still is kinda hanging on. Koben just has a cold, and all I hear is him running around the house *sniff....sniff.......sniff........sniff........* He just doesn't understand why it is plugged up, and then runny, so he is kinda whiny about it. He hates it when he can't breathe out of his nose. Chloe hasn't eaten a thing today, and has been lolling on my bed watching t.v.
Seeing how pretty it is outside, I have been making a list of things we need to do to the house. I think my hopes are bigger than what the actual execution will be. It always is!!!!!
1. Buy new furniture
Really hoping to do this one in the spring. We badly need it, and are hoping to use part of our tax return on a living room set. Problem is, Craig and I can not agree on anything. I have a style I like, and he has a style he likes. Has been very frustrating. Anything we find that we do agree on, is three times our budget. Currently we have a sectional. Craig either wants another sectional, or an overstuffed sofa, loveseat set. I don't like the overstuffed couches. I don't care for the look of them, and I don't think they are comfortable for me. I want a sofa and loveseat, with an oversized chair and two ottomans. One for the chair, and one for the couch to make a chaise out of one or the other. He thinks the set I picked out is comfortable, but not AS comfortable as his set that he likes, which doesn't come with a chair, or an ottoman, just the sofa and loveseat. Ugh!!!!!!!!!!!!
2. Paint dining room
This one will definitely happen. I finally picked out the color.
3. Molding
Will also happen......just need to keep hubby motivated!
4. Re-finish kitchen cabinets
Doesn't that sound like fun???? Neither of us want to paint them, so we decided to refinish them, and use a little bit shinier varnish, and we would like to put knobs on the cupboard doors. I know it will happen, this is just a matter of us taking a week off. Will probably be late spring.
5. Front porch
An item that has been on my list for years....we will see how that one goes
6. Tiling bathroom floors
Still hoping this will happen this year. We will have to wait and see.
7. Installing a new kitchen sink.
My boss bought me an instant hot water tap for Christmas, and I don't want to install it in our current sink, because it is kinda beaten up. I told Craig I wanted a new sink for my Birthday (how romantic) so we only have to install the tap once.
8. Wash all windows, inside and out, clean tracks, and replace several screens.
I'm tired just thinking about all of it!! Won't really be too bad, cost wise (other than the furniture) most of it will be just finding the time to get it all accomplished. But it is fun to have a list. I like to think of new things to do to the house, even if they don't all get done right now!
