I'm really slacking off on this blog thing. I'm having a hard time keeping up with it and facebook. Gets a little tricky!
Things are pretty low key here. Not much going on. This last weekend Craig and I were involved with a Valentines day wedding. It was pretty good size, and exhausted all of us that were involved. I think I am still recovering. Picking up Chloe's cold in the meantime probably has not helped that at all. It is probably more the reason I am exhausted I am sure! We feel like we have been really busy, but haven't gotten anything done home-wise. My house is still waiting for moulding to be put up. It seems to have been put on the back burner. I would very much like to get the front porch done this spring, and the front door painted. It has been on the to-do list for about 3 years now, so we will see how that goes. I would also like to paint the dining room. I swore after I finished painting the kitchen and dining room I would never paint them again, but I am getting tired of having both rooms green, and would like to move to something else in the one room. I really really don't want to paint the kitchen again, but I still like the olive color in there. We will see what happens. I am still deciding on a color for the dining room. There is nothing in there except wood. Wood floors, oak table, oak hutch. What color would look good with all of that oak???? I like the taupe colors, but feel like that would be too much brown. So now I am wondering about some sort of yellow. Golden something or another. Craig wants red, but I feel like right next to my olive kitchen it would feel like Christmas year round. I'm still debating.
The kids are doing good in school. Chloe is starting to wear a little. She gets kinda tuckered out about this time of year, ready for spring break. then she always perks up knowing her birthday will be right at the end of the school year. She is going to be 10! Can anyone believe it? I can't. Every time I realize she will be in the fifth grade next year, I have to stop and recount. It just doesn't seem right. Just yesterday she weighed next to nothing and was my little gangly, big eyed girl! She wants a slumber party this year for her birthday, and what started out as me saying ok, one or two girls is fine, it has now spread to four or five girls.
"mooooom, I can't leave anyone out.....we are beeeeeest friends. Someone will feel hurt"
Far be it from me to ruin the fun. Who needs sleep? I don't need sleep.....oh, I am sure with 6 10 year olds in the house, I will get pleeeenty of sleep.
These are the times I really really really wish we had a two story house, so I won't hear everything QUITE so much. Or a basement. A basement sounds so nice right now.
Koben, too, is having a great time in school. He is learning soooo much, and his speech has really picked up alot. He is not 100% yet, but everyday he is improving, and I understand so much more. He has all of his letters and numbers down quite well. Telling the difference from a D,B, or M,N when he talks is hard, but HE knows what he is saying, and he does know the difference. Now we are working on colors. That seems to be an area he struggles with. Colorblind? Who knows. I guess it is common among guys, so I will keep testing that to find out. He is such an active little guy, and he cracks us up daily. Well, most days. Last Friday night when he woke up wide awake and thought it was breakfast time at 3 am wasn't so funny, but HE didn't know what time it was. He just knew he was wide awake, so there for thought it was time to get up and get everyone else up. Needless to say, we gave him a drink, and told him it was still the middle of the night. It took two hours, and a few times up, before he finally figured it out (or got tired) and he fell back asleep. He was still asleep when I left the house at 8am. Funny little guy. I've done that before as a kid. I remember mom getting up one morning at 4 am and telling me to go back to bed, because I had obviously woken up wide awake, and read my clock wrong. I was getting ready for school. Worked out ok I guess. I went back to bed, and when I woke up at the correct time, I was already ready for school! Too funny.
We have been staying really busy at work, so that is good, and Craig will pick back up I am sure, now that Chinese New Year is over. We are grateful that our jobs are still going strong. We know too many who have been laid off, or are not working right now (Bryan being one of them) Hopefully things will pick back up for all of them. I hate to see people lose their homes. It just doesn't seem fair.
Everyone take care!

Synoahs last slumber party, I ended up taking girls home in the middle of the night. Come to find out, 8 year olds THINK they're ready for a sleepover but not all of them were. ;-)
Bryan got laid off from C.Plumbing? That blows. I'm lucky that my company is the kind of place that will always have plenty of clients but worry about Adams job staying busy enough.
Glad to hear the kids are doing so good in school!
